An update from the ECM2015-team
We won the bid for ECM 2015 (European Capitals Meeting) back in May in Beograd – and now the fun begins.
A small group of people from our chapter comprised mostly of the original team that worked on our bid for the honour of hosting the ECM are now working on making this a congress to be remembered.
In JCI-terms we are the “COC” (Conference Organizational Committee). That means that we meet on a frequent basis to make plans and important decisions regarding the ECM. The conference is a big project so at our last meeting we divided responsibilities between us and agreed on a set of general rules of cooperation. I know from experience that this is important in a project where decisions can be tough and work is hard but fun and rewarding.
In fact, the best projects I have been involved in, personally, have in some way been related to conferences and I would love for all of you to have the opportunity to experience the intense and interesting process of bringing something like this to life. The COC is currently putting together planning committees for different parts of the conference and there is ample upportunity for you test your skill sets and maybe aquire a few new (I myself have teamed up with Liis who has promised me to teach me something about finance).
The theme of the conference is after all “From fairytale to global succes” and who doesn’t want to take the opportunity to be in a fairytale with global succes?
